Nice day out on Botany
Went out on the Bay today in search of some bream. Caught a few and also managed to catch 3 legal snapper, a flathead and a tailor. We caught a small squid early in the morning so we decided to put it on the down rigger and see if there were any kingies around. Unfortunately It got nailed by the tailor. All the other fish were caught with strips of fresh yellowtail.

Would anybody please give me advice on rigging live baby octopus. Is it even worth down rigging occy's for Kingies. Any suggestions would be appreciated. I down rigged a small one today and it got taken by a bigger one which I gave to my old man as he loves occy.

Tight lines

Steve:
Sounded like a tough comp. Brent, but a record number of big fish were landed! Be interesting to see how the Classic goes this week.
Brent:
Yep it was tough, but you always thought you were a chance of a big fish so it kept you on your toes. Let's see how the classic goes. Shame to miss you Steve, but I'll be back in town on 15 June so lets organise a day trip?
Steve:
For sure! I hear the Classic is fishing pretty well. A mate of mine and his offsider hit a submerged snag and flipped their boat on the Daly two days ago. They spent 20-odd minutes in the water clinging to the upturned hull. Not a nice feeling in that part of the world.

Hey you fishers a mate and i had a close encounter with a Great White Shark off Bondi recently that took most of a Blue Shark we had caught earlier in the day. ENJOY THE FOOTAGE !!!

So, did any Yuufish fans pick up a prize in the Pirtek Challenge? I missed out on the mystery length prize for barra in the NT by less than 2 centimetres! D'oh...
Leonard:
Unlucky Steve, we fished Lake Macquarie Nsw picked up half a dozen good sized bream and a 33cm flathead that was put back as it was undersized. We had a good day what a great way to raise much needed funds for a good cause.
